This is definitely great for beginners which we needed because neither me or my husband has ever used a drone before but always wanted to. This one is in a reasonable price range which is nice due to that I will say the camera is HD but I felt like there are way better drones the more expensive kind that would have better cameras to them. I'm glad we have a good sized backyard with no trees to test this out and it was fun to use and play with. Super easy with one but lift and the instructions are easy enough for any one to understand. It lasts a good amount of time before needing to be recharged but if you plan to use it all day then you wouldn't be able to with this. We played with it on and off for days without charging maybe 30 mins each time and had to charge after a few days of this. I think it would make a perfect gift for kids or adults alike just keep in mind the only reason i gave it 4 stars is the camera quality isn't as well as I would like. Outside of that i think this is a great buy and we enjoy flying ours where ever we can.The drone is great for beginners, which I am one. This is my first drone and I had a bunch of fun trying to learn how to fly it. The assembly directions are a little tricky to understand at times, but I was able to figure things out by using the pictures as mere suggestions (they show one tab going first, but that doesn't want to happen -- the other tab is better. You'll see it when you get there). The flight directions are a bit better. I struggled with the number of things that I have control of with respect to the controls. The controls do work well, and make sense, so it's easy to pick up what needs to be done.Get the app and select the drone image (the docs say slip to the drone, but they mean swipe) to enable all of the features. As soon as the drone comes online, the app changed to a forward view from the camera. That view can be recorded and the video is saved to the device with the app running. The connection is through a WiFi connection and the signal is strong enough to control the drone as far from me as I was comfortable having it, so it seems to have a good range.It is usually a little windy around here, but the drone was really doing a good job 'keeping station' -- it would drift a bit and then move back, but even the slight wind was tough so I was able to learn about trimming the aircraft to help it stay in one place.This is a durable little beast, too. I wanted to take to flight naturally, but there were several incidents that involved collisions with a number of stationary objects (trees, boulders, shrubbery, the ground, my neighbors garage door). Parts popped off like they were designed to do that and fit right back in place like they were always there. I'll admit that much of my first time with this aircraft was spent reassembling it. That's okay, I got to know my aircraft a little more closely that way. Now flights are much less dramatic.I highly recommend this drone for any beginning drone-pilot and I can't wait to get back out there and do some flying.(For those of you adventurous types, it does fly indoors, given enough space. I haven't yet been able to get it through a doorway, but soon it'll be flying into the other room. Oh, and, some cats want to knock it out of the air and others are frightened and make themselves scarce. Fly with care and not around animals. ...and, if you are wondering, the blades sting briefly when they hit one's skin, but there is no damage to either the person or the drone.)Did not use the camera option....but still has a learning curve.Smartphone app required for video capture. Ships with two batteries, so you can double your flight time.Easy to use and is great for first timers! My son loves it!
